Who is the school readiness program for?
Pre Uni College Digital school readiness program is designed for preschool and kindergarten children from ages 3 to 6 years old.
What goes on in our SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAM programs?
Literacy
(Reading, Writing and Grammar)
- – Phonics – sounding out, blending and decoding letter sounds, two-letter initial and final consonant blends.
- – Tricky words – recognising high frequency words such as “who” and “the”, “before” and “other”
- – Penmanship – mastering letter strokes and lower-case letters
- – Simple sentence construction
- – Introduction to grammar topics such as punctuation in sentences, personal pronouns, and proper and common nouns
- – Interactive show-and-tell presentations.
- – Share-and-inquire discussions to practice articulation
(e.g., what is the difference between fruit and vegetables?)
Numeracy
(Measurement, Number Value, Spatial Awareness, Relationship and Patterns)
- – Identify, extend, and create AB patterns.
- – Identify patterns in the environment (e.g., what do you observe about the peacock’s feathers?)
- – Place three or more things in order according to factors such as position, size, length, etc.
- – Identify number symbols and words for numbers 1 to 200.

- – Solve number operations that involve addition and subtraction.
- – Identify more, less, and equal sets.
- – Identify the attributes of basic 2D shapes.
- – Identify 3D shapes.
- – Differentiate between a 2D and 3D shape.
- – Apply non-standard units in the measurement of length and mass.
- – Use comparative language terms in comparison of measurements.
- – Relate time to the concept of day and night as well as daily activities.
